Safe Space 12+
12-week self-awareness and nervous system-friendly program for young people (teenagers) ages 12+
If you feel that your child is carrying a lot of inner tension, finds it difficult to connect with themselves or with others, and you would like to offer them a safe and accepting space, Safe Space 12+ is here to support them.
This program is not centred around a diagnosis or a “problem.” It focuses on the young person themselves—their emotions, their way of experiencing the world, and practical tools that can help them feel calmer, more confident, and more balanced in everyday life.
The program is designed as a 12-week process, but the number of sessions can be adjusted to your teenager’s individual needs.
What is – Safe Space 12+?
Some parents come to me after trying many different things, but still feel their child needs something different: a place where they can feel less pressure, slow down, and simply be themselves.
That is why I created Safe Space 12+.
Safe Space 12+ is a 12-week, personalized process that helps teenager connect with themselves, recognize their feelings, needs, and body signals, and discover what helps them find their balance in everyday life.
The process is not just about talking or practicing techniques. Shared experiences and everyday situations are also an important part of it, such as walking, playing, movement, creative activities, or doing something together. These moments give young people a safe space to make choices, communicate their needs, work together, and learn how to handle mistakes or unexpected situations.
Everything is adapted to the young person’s own pace, personality, and needs, in an open, accepting, and judgment-free environment.
Safe Space 12+ does not replace psychotherapy, psychological care, or medical treatment. It is not a diagnostic process, but it can be used alongside other forms of therapy and professional support.
Safe Space 12+ may be the right choice if your child...
- often feels anxious or struggles to relax
- feels overwhelmed by school or everyday life
- has a sensitive nervous system
- finds it difficult to talk about their feelings
- feels isolated and longs to belong
- often experiences pressure to meet expectations
- feels that the world is simply "too much"
- can develop more naturally through shared experiences and everyday situations.
The program can also support young people with ADHD or autism, although no diagnosis is required.
The most important question is not: “What diagnosis do they have?”, but rather: “Do they need a space where they can safely reconnect with themselves?”
What happens during the 12 weeks?
Safe Space 12+ is not a fixed curriculum. It is a personalised journey where each session builds naturally on the previous one, while always adapting to the young person’s current needs, experiences, and pace.
Throughout the Safe Space 12+ program, we may explore topics such as:

How can the program help?
Adolescence is a time of enormous change. The body changes, identity develops, relationships evolve, expectations grow, and young people begin searching for their place in the world.
Many teenagers are not “difficult.” They are simply carrying more than their nervous system can comfortably manage.
The purpose of Safe Space 12+ is not to change who they are, but to help them develop the inner resources they can rely on throughout life.
During the program, your teenager may:
- build a safer relationship with themselves
- better understand the signals of their body and nervous system
- recognise stress and overwhelm earlier
- learn practical ways to calm themselves and return to balance
- develop their own self-regulation toolkit
- strengthen self-confidence and self-acceptance
- experience something deeply important: There is nothing wrong with me.
By the end of the 12 weeks, the goal is not for them to become a different person, but to understand themselves more deeply, feel more confident in who they are, and have practical tools to navigate everyday challenges.
I adapt each topic to the young person, so they can enjoy the process and naturally learn through their own experiences.
Very often, the change doesn’t happen only within the young person. It also happens when the adults around them begin to better understand what they truly need.
How do I work?
Every young person is different.
The program follows a clear professional structure that provides consistency and direction. At the same time, it is never a rigid script. What matters most is what the young person brings into each session.
Their current life situation, emotional state, personality, and individual needs shape the focus of our work together. The structure offers stability, but the young person’s needs always come first.
The different methods I use are never the goal in themselves. They are simply tools that help young people understand themselves, feel safe, and discover healthy ways of coping that genuinely work for them.
Depending on the individual, our work may include:
- Autogenic Training
- guided relaxation exercises
- breathing techniques
- creative activities
- open and guided conversations
- psychoeducation and reflection
- self-regulation exercises
- exploring inner and outer resources
- communication skills development
- practicing cooperation through shared everyday experiences, such as playing in the park, spending time by the lake, or cooking together.
I love welcoming their world into the room - I believe every young person carries something unique within them.
That’s why I like to bring their world into Safe Space 12+. Whether it’s music, a hobby, a game, a book, a sport, or anything else that feels important to them, there is space for it here.
I often see that when young people can share what they love and invite someone into their world, connection grows naturally. It can also help them feel more comfortable being themselves and expressing who they are.
For me, these moments are just as valuable as any exercise or technique I teach.
Information
Important information
Safe Space 12+ is not psychotherapy and it is not a psychological assessment or diagnostic service.
It is a nervous system-friendly support program that helps strengthen self-regulation, self-awareness, and inner stability.
It can work alongside psychological or medical treatment, but it is not intended to replace professional healthcare.
The program is designed as a 12-week process, but the number of sessions can be adjusted to your teenager’s individual needs.
Parents as part of the process
I believe young people can grow best when the adults around them also feel supported.
That’s why parents are an important part of Safe Space 12+. At the same time, it is important that each young person has their own safe space, where they can be themselves without pressure or expectations.
We begin with a parent consultation and a questionnaire to understand the current situation, questions, and goals. A final consultation is included, and additional check-ins are possible if needed.
These conversations are not about sharing what the young person tells me in confidence. They are about helping parents better understand their child, support them in everyday life, and feel supported themselves.
If needed, I also offer parents individual coaching and Autogenic Training to help them find more balance and strengthen their own resources.
As a mother, I know that change takes time. There will be easier and more challenging days. What matters is not having perfect days, but knowing that we don’t have to face the difficult ones alone.
My goal is not only for young people to feel safe during Safe Space 12+, but for that sense of safety to gradually become part of everyday family life.

About the Creator
Safe Space 12+ wasn’t created from a textbook. It grew out of many years of personal experience and professional practice.
As a mother, coach, and autogenic training therapist, I’ve spent years supporting people through self-discovery and personal growth. Yet some of my deepest lessons have come from my own children.
One of my children, who has additional support needs, taught me how essential it is to build a compassionate relationship with ourselves. My other child has continually invited me to cultivate patience, presence, and balance in everyday life.
Together, they showed me something I now see in many young people:
Often, they don’t need another method.
They need a space where they feel safe enough to reconnect with themselves.
Over the years I’ve collaborated with schools, therapists, and professionals from a variety of backgrounds in both Switzerland and Hungary.
And one thing has become increasingly clear: methods matter, but safety, trust, and genuine human connection matter even more.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does my child need a diagnosis to join?
No. Safe Space 12+ is built around connection, not diagnosis.
I believe every young person is unique, with their own strengths, sensitivities, and gifts. Our work isn’t focused on labels, but on helping each teenager understand themselves better and reconnect with their own inner balance.
Who is the program for?
Safe Space 12+ is designed for teenagers who often feel overwhelmed, highly sensitive, anxious, or under constant pressure to meet expectations.
Some struggle to regulate their emotions.
Others become overwhelmed more easily than their peers.
Some simply need a safe, structured environment where they can relax and be themselves.
The program can also be supportive for young people with ADHD or autistic traits, although it is not built around these diagnoses.
What if my teenager doesn't want to talk?
That’s completely okay.
Safe Space 12+ is never about expecting a young person to open up straight away. Everyone needs something different before they feel safe. I always respect their own pace.
Sometimes connection begins through conversation. Sometimes it begins through shared activities, quiet presence, creativity, or simply sitting together.
There is no pressure to talk before they’re ready.
Is the program available online?
Yes. Safe Space 12+ can also be offered online via Zoom. That said, whenever possible I recommend meeting in person.
Face-to-face sessions allow for a deeper sense of connection, while engaging the body, the senses, and the calming elements of autogenic training in ways that naturally support nervous system regulation.
Can parents attend the sessions?
The sessions are intended to be the young person’s own safe space, so parents do not normally attend individual appointments.
If needed, we can arrange opportunities for parents to gain an understanding of how the sessions work.
My goal is always to protect the young person’s sense of safety while also making sure parents receive the guidance and support they need.
How does Safe Space 12+ fit alongside therapy?
Safe Space 12+ is an independent, nervous-system-friendly self-connection program.
Our focus is on self-awareness, emotional regulation, self-acceptance, and building practical tools that young people can use in everyday life.
The aim is never to “fix” anyone.
It’s to help each young person discover that they are already safe enough to be themselves.
When someone experiences genuine acceptance and connection, meaningful change often begins naturally.
The program can complement psychological, therapeutic, or medical support, but it does not replace it.
What if we realise another type of support would be more appropriate?
Sometimes, after a few sessions, we may realise together that Safe Space 12+ isn’t the best fit at this stage.
If that happens, we’ll have an honest conversation and explore what would serve your child best.
If appropriate, I’m happy to help you find another professional or service that better matches your child’s current needs.
My priority is never simply filling my program.
It’s making sure every young person receives the support that’s truly right for them.
Autumn Intake
Safe Space 12+ continues to grow through each individual journey.
To ensure every young person receives the attention, safety, and personal support they deserve, I only work with a small number of teenagers at any one time.
The next individual programs begin in Autumn 2026, with limited availability.
Let's explore whether this is the right path for your child.
Every young person is different, that’s why the first step isn’t commitment. It’s a relaxed 15-minute online introductory conversation.
During our meeting I’ll learn more about your child’s current situation, listen to your questions, and explore what kind of support you’re looking for.
Together we’ll decide whether Safe Space 12+ is the right fit. And if we feel another form of support would better serve your child, we’ll talk about that honestly too.
My priority is always helping each young person receive the support they truly need.
I’d love to welcome you to a free 15-minute online introductory call.
