I’m an exhausted mother!

"Help! I'm an exhausted mother!"

Hey exhausted mom, are you carrying a load that was never yours to hold?

“Help! I’m an exhausted mother!” — that’s how deep inside, your soul is screaming. Yet you still give everything to your children — the time, the effort, the sleepless nights of worry. Their days, future, and success are all planned by you. You push through the exhaustion, ignoring the small voice inside that whispers, What about me? Am I carrying a load that was never mine to hold?

Help! I’m an exhausted mother!: When giving everything becomes too much

I know this feeling all too well. Because for almost a decade, I was in the same boat.

I dedicated myself to helping my son navigate life, seeking out therapies, trying different approaches, and following lifestyle advice. Some things helped immediately, but others not so much, and some didn’t seem to have any effect at all. But through it all, one thing became clear—helping my son also meant helping myself.

As much as I wanted to be the perfect mother, the unwavering support my child needed, I eventually reached a point where I felt empty. My relentless efforts began to fade into exhaustion. I was losing my balance, experiencing psychosomatic illness, and watching what I once believed in slip away. I felt like I was on a hamster wheel, with no way to escape.

Then, my son said something that struck me to the core:

“Mom, you’ve done great, but now help those who want to improve. I’ll take care of my life now.”

A moment of awakening from being only an exhausted mother

Those words changed everything. Suddenly, I realized that my focus had been too much on my child’s life, at the expense of my own. I was so caught up in trying to make his world better that I had neglected my own.

But what about when your child is stubborn, resistant, or behaves in a way that completely throws you off balance? What happens when you feel like your whole existence is consumed by trying to improve their life while your own is slowly slipping away?

Help! I’m an exhausted mother!

When an exhausted mother recognizing her own journey

When an exhausted mother recognizing her own journey, and finally, let go carrying a load that was never hers to hold.

I knew I needed a shift in perspective, but it was hard to see the bigger picture. As I reflected on the years spent working with my son, I saw that not all of the support was solely for his benefit. In fact, I was also navigating a journey for myself. I hadn’t faced the uncomfortable truths about my own life—where I wanted to be geographically, professionally, or personally—because I was too busy focusing on him.

But when I was physically and emotionally drained, I began to realize that he had unknowingly helped me grow into the person I am today. His challenges had prepared me for my own journey. Through the therapies and developmental sessions, I reconnected with parts of myself I had long ignored. Autogenic training helped me find inner calm, navigate challenges more easily, and overcome psychosomatic symptoms.

I had always felt a deep desire to support others, but I never believed I was capable. Yet, as I learned from the professionals around me, I realized that I, too, had something to offer.

A new path forward – And the exhausted mother evolves into a conscious mother accepting help during her journey

At some point, my son expressed that he didn’t need any more therapies, because he wanted to take control of his life. It was then that I understood the power of projection and how I had been searching for myself through him. Consequently, it was time for me to stop compensating for what I had neglected in my own life.

That’s when I discovered alternative medicine and began reflecting on my own life with fresh eyes. Everything had unfolded exactly as it was meant to, at the right time. My son had taken control of his own path, and so had I.

We both experimented, pushed boundaries, while becoming energetically liberated, supporting each other’s growth with pride. None of us wants me to go back to the old pattern of an exhausted mother.

Moreover my journey led me to explore transformational coaching, autogenic training, conventional medicine, and energy healing—not only to better support my son but also to understand myself on a deeper level. Each step was a piece of the puzzle, guiding me toward a holistic approach to healing and transformation.

And the exhausted mother evolves into a conscious mother

Living life through my own lens – I’m not an exhausted mother anymore

Today, I continue to apply the lessons I’ve learned in every aspect of my life. I’ve let go of what no longer serves me, embraced my true self, and welcomed everything that comes my way.

No longer do I carry someone else’s burdens; I carry my own.

Now, I live the life I always wanted. I experience life through my own lens, not as a projection of my hopes for someone else.
